Hi I’m Sharon, I’m the creator behind Mommas-makes.com.

I was’nt a normal little girl….NO I loved anything to do with building like wood, bricks, nails, glue etc etc, This was because I was a daddies girl and he was a Builder, so I’d follow him on all his jobs, that’s how I got my passion for wood, I continued to follow woodwork all through secondary school, whilst others were making spice racks and bread bins, I made an replica 18th century butter churn, out of the ink well sections from old classrooms desks, here’s a photo of what I made:-

I left school and gained a 3 year Carpentry & Joinery apprenticeship with BCC, which I completed blowing all expectations out the window by gaining the highest grades ever seen & winning Apprentice of the year. Yep I was now a fully qualified Carpenter & Joiner. Over the next few years I helped to promote females in the construction industry, whilst shocking customers when I'd arrived to hang a door etc...they say OMG a lady !!!!

A few years later I suffered an accident which put a stop to my career. Some 30+ years later my health has deteriorated to the point I’m now paralysed from the waist down in wheelchair. A typical day for me is spent bed/house bound. But my creative side is always trying to burst out and I learnt that as & when my physical & mental health allowed me Id try other ways to be creative, Here are some of the crafts I’ve done in the past:- Both oil and water colour painting, cake decorating, Chinese brush painting, embroidery, card making, knitting, pebble art, sewing hand made teddies, here’s a few photos of my creations,

I think I’m a typical crafter who’s tried it all lol. It’s watching the item grow and once finished finding it a loving & caring home. I’m always amazed to see the family, friends & customers reactions when they see the finished item… that’s makes all the hard work worthwhile. My motto is “your never too old for a cuddly” In my shop you'll find all sorts like Cushions, Jewellery, Framed work, Hearts, Bookmarks, Baby teething straps, Dummy straps, Worry worms and Pocket hugs, Shopping bags, Bikini tops etc,etc,etc....Some items are available for immediate post, but others like MADE 2 ORDER take a little longer as they are custom made.

Because my health has a colossal impact on me daily, it can take me a little longer to finish an order, but I make sure the customer is kept up to date on the progress. I’m a great believer in trying even on a bad day I still persevere with a smile🙂. I’ve made all the items in my shop.
